Session 6: teacher, learner,and designing and implementing classroom lessons

There is always a relationship between people who are in contact with each other. The nature of this relationship is so important, because it shapes our attitudes toward each other; it makes our experience and ways of life. Relationship is an important part of our real life. It exists everywhere and among different people. But what is the relationship between the teacher decisions and the learner? It is that the teachers showed organize her lesson plan according to learner's need and their variables. There are factor and variables that are vital and essential for each teacher. In fact considering to them makes our class more responsive and active. These factors are 1) age 2)style 3)level 4)personality 5)cognitive styles 6)strategy 7)affective variables.

Contextual variables are also important to be considered. We can classify them to: 1) physical: a) setting b) scene 2) socio-political

Interactional model of teaching can be one of the most effective models of teaching. It is more influential than transactional one, because both the teacher and students are involved and in contact with each other. By putting our class according to interactional model we lead our students according to some important achievements. It can be listed as bellow:

1) Automaticity: leading students to focus on meaning not just form.

2) Intrinsic motivation: helping students to increase their wants to learn

3) Strategic investment: using strategic long competence by designing a lesson plan for any classroom.

4) Risk taking: helping students freely take risks and decreasing their fear by using puzzles and some kinds of games.

5) Cultural connection

6) Interlanguage: we should attend to the systematic development of studentess' language and take it as an important sign of their progress.

7) Communicative competence: we should organize our activities in a way that cover linguistic, socio-linguistic, discourse and strategic competences.

It is important for a teacher to know whether her interactional model is effective or not. After considering to all of the above mentioned items, the teacher needs to know her students and analyze their needs (need analysis).Nunan mentions lack, need, and want as the important factors for need analysis.
