Diary 5




Session five:

Through the years the view of language and language teaching have been changed. In recent years communication view of languages with its focus on teacher as facilitator and communicator rather than transmitter of knowledge was predominant. In fact it gives much more responsibility on part of teacher.

Based on the notion of social constractiv ist approach, teacher should be a reflective practitioner. it means that a teacher should be aware of her own beliefs and monitor how her action reflects those beliefs. In fact one comprehensive review of literature on teachers beliefs concluded that these had a greater influence than teachers' knowledge on the way they planned their lessons, on kinds of decisions they made and on their general classroom practice.

Considering the fact that the role of teacher has comprehensively changed from a mere transmitter of knowledge to an interpreter and communicator ,need analysis, creating a negotiated curricula ,strategies awareness and encouraging self initiation and self awareness and self-esteem in learners become an important and inseparable part of our teaching.
