Diary 1

At the first session of our methodology course,we have some discussions about 3 important schools of thought in second language acquisition:1)Structuralism & Behaviorism 2)Rationalism & cognitive psychology3)Constructivism Infact teaching & learning have different definitions in each of these schools.Teachers of EFL/ESL shoud be aware of these different views & their task is choosing the best characteristics of them,according to context & the needs of the students. There were also discussions about Experiential learning & learner-centered education.In Experiential learning learners are at the center of learning process &learning is a process of self discovery,we can say learners move from the known to the new through a process of making sense of some experience & going beyond the experience through a process of transformation. The last part of my diary in the first session is about Negotiated Curriculum.It means what gets taught & how it is learned,are arrived at through discussions & compromise. At the end I should say these kinds of discussions & participations in our class & then reporting them through diaries will be a good way in learning & recalling of information & materials.I am sure , I will have the pleasure of learning more & more in your class & by your perfect administration.
